It has since become the standard for movie theater surround sound, with 6.1 and 7.1-enabled theaters also representing a small percentage of screens. Thanks to DVD-A and SACD, 5.1 is now proliferating in the home theater market as well, so many people, including Holman and Dybdahl, believe it is time for the next great leap forward.
